The international Civil Service (SCI) is a unification of free and equal citizens giving gratuitously their time, knowledge, forces, energy and talent to the society good, and is a powerful resource in the development and advancement of democratic and economic reforms.

Services of voluntary work have appeared in Europe in the 20s XX-th century by the initiative of young men, full of energy and desire to help in restoration of the destroed world after I World War. Ideas of solidarity, gratuitousness, equality and refusal of the violence, propagandised by active workers of the services of voluntary work, very quickly became popular among youth and people of various different age. After II World War the International Civil Service branches have appeared practically everywhere in Europe, and also in many countries of Asia.

Now the International Civil Service unites about 70 branches and partner organisations located worldwide. Many young men call themselves volunteers, that is those who voluntary takes active part in the activity of their branch of MGS. The tasks of SCI are not only coordination of carrying out the international camps and exchanges of long-term volunteers worldwide, but also the realisation of the joint short-term and long-term projects aimed to the development of the ideas of voluntary and peace. Besides, within the SCI study proggrames are frequently organised (trainings, seminars, conferences) the purpose is to increase professional competence of the representatives of member and partner organisations.

The international Civil Service is not purely youth organisation and is opened for people of various age categories so, the age of participants of camps and other social SCI projects is not limited.
